Dutch Brigade
- more tactical infantry unit introduced a t the end of the sixteenth century. The organizers were: Maurice of Orange, William and John Louis of Nassau. The basic tactical u nit in the brigade was a battalion, 250 pikemen became in 5 rows and 50 rows, 240 musketeers in 2 squadrons of 3 platoons (each with 4 rows of 10 people) on both wings, 60 shooters in the front, scattered, as straceńcy. The whole formed a front with a length of 258 steps. 6 battalions (forming a brigade) grouped into 3 lines, the chessboard - the first line stood side by side 2 battalions, 100 meters behind the next 2 (stairs) and 200 m ahead on the other 2 next to each other, forming rearguard.
